Monkey Business

Stealth camping (guerilla camping) has been a very unique part of this trip so far. This is done to avoid paying crazy amounts of money for a campsite (typically between $15 and $25, just to set up a tent). Basically you avoid being seen while setting up your tent, and then hope you found a spot good enough that no one finds you during the night. The entire time I feel very much like a wild animal. Setting up you have to look up every few seconds or hide from cars as they come past. During the night you can hear every little leaf that rustles and every car that drives by. It's exciting, but I do admit after doing it several days in a row it's worth paying to stay somewhere just for some peace of mind for one night.

Pictured below is a typical guerilla style campsite.

Edit:
Oh, and it's actually way harder than I thought to find these spots sometimes. Barbed wire fences stretch along the side of the road nearly everywhere.
